Riata held their monthly meeting in the beautiful remodeled home of Glenn and Caren Rueffer. Caren Rueffer presented the program on her on going goal of becoming self sufficient. She is one of 45 people in the State of Texas to hold a permit to sell raw milk from her dairy, Cole Creamery.

What a fantastic party it was Sunday night! We really tripped the light fantastic! A huge thank you to Johnny Nicholas for entertaining us so beautifully and to Claire Bell for loaning her building to us for a couple of weeks. It was truly a special time. We also want to thank all of our supporters and donors and our own committee for making this such a grand event.

Mason continued their march through their district competitors on Friday night as they traveled to Junction. Though some sportswriters had writtent that the Eagles would be a formidable obstacle for Mason, the Punchers easily clinched a 48-0 win. The night began with Mason kicking off to Junction. On their first play of the game, Junction threw an interception to Luis Castillo who carried the ball in 19 yards for the first score of the game.

Thank you to all who participated in the Fine Arts Association of the Hill Country Tuscan Picnic, Wine Tasting and CHAIR-ity Auction Saturday evening, October 19th. Even though the event had to be moved from the Robert Clay Vineyards to the Mason Eckert Civic Center, all chairs, decorated by regional artists, sold and the non profit organization raised thousands of dollars for future scholarships to be given to graduating seniors.

Friday night's game against the Ozona Lions saw the Punchers rack up their second district win; but, it was not an easy victory. The first quarter saw the Punchers bolt from the gate, and fans may have mistakenly thought that the Ozona team would go down easily. On the second play of the game, the Punchers' Raul Silguero ran 63 yards for the opening Puncher touchdown.

Mason Elementary has once again begun collecting Lowe’s Supermarket receipts! Beginning August 17, 2013, and running through March 31, 2014, parents, families, and friends of your students can collect register tapes and contribute them to the school. The school can then redeem the value of those register tapes for FREE educational equipment!

District play for the Mason Punchers started Friday night and the Harper Longhorns quickly learned that Mason intends to make this their year. On the first Mason possession of the ball following the opening kickoff, Luis Castillo ran the ball 53 yards for the first score of the night. Go Chanraing added his extra point and the Punchers led 7-0 with 11:57 remaining in the quarter. The annual Pontotoc VFD fundraising barbeque, held at the end of September, was a rousing success. Crowds enjoyed live music, great food, wonderful weather and good friends, all while helping to raise money to support the rural firefighters that keep people in the Pontotoc and Fredonia area safe.

Over six years ago (April of 2007), the Mason Square Museum had a grand opening on a very cold, rainy, and snowy morning outside on the sidewalk with many local folks and out-of-town visitors. After several years of fund raisers and many, many hours of planning and an equal amount of physical construction hours, the museum had become real.

After missing a scheduled game with Christoval on September 20th due to flooding along the South Concho River, the Mason Punchers traveled to San Saba ready to play some football. During the first quarter, both teams showed off strong offenses; but, both were shifting their defensive strategies in an effort to control their opponents. Mason's Raul Silguero scored the first touchdown of the night on a three-yard final run ending a successful drive.

The Mason Bank hosted the 25th annual golf tournament on Saturday. The tournament had 45 entrants and six teams ties for first with a score of 14 under. A scorecard playoff determined the top three teams.
