In a life chapter just a few pages back, “occupy” was a term usually oozing with courteous and thoughtful consideration of others. Maybe it was printed on a sign placed on an airline seat, or in a crowded restaurant. The word had a tough side, too, sometimes noting that an enemy stronghold had been occupied.Today, it has a whole ‘nuther application by significant numbers of folks caught up in societal restlessness, poverty and/or a long list of causes.

It’s time for Turkey? Actually, one can only eat just so much turkey. After your fill of this bird, you just have to have BEEF! However, this is the time of year for turkey. So, just go with the tradition for this day. Thanksgiving is always over shadowed by Christmas commercials and shopping, so it’s only proper to give Thanksgiving the turkey. Then, for Christmas, you’re free to eat CHOCOLATES, PIES, CAKES, COOKIES and the fruit cakes!

Thanksgiving is, as I’ve said many times, the most American holiday we celebrate in the United States. The way my family celebrates it, it’s got everything I look for in a holiday – food, hunting, family, food, friends, football, sleeping late, food, games, time off from work, and food. Plus you don’t have to give anyone anything, or act like you appreciate gifts from anyone else.Granted, if I were a woman, I might not like Thanksgiving quite so much.

Acceptance of His dominance. And, thanks for all He has given us.Before our pleadings and entreaties to God for additional blessings, Christ instructed us to be certain to give our thanks for all those things we have already received.
