There’s much to appreciate about friendly competition. This said, an addendum is in order—all’s fair not only in love and war, but in Christmas decorating as well. In the latter category, however, we should forgive otherwise normal people who, at Yuletide, cast judgment aside in favor of reckless abandon. Mild-mannered folks who never keep score on eggs or tomatoes borrowed over backyard fences during other months of the years sometimes grow fangs in December.

K is for klotting – which doesn’t really start with a ‘k’, but it’s what I want to write about. Many people take an aspirin a day to prevent stroke and heart attack based on aspirin’s ability to thin the blood and prevent blood clots. Most alternative doctors have been against aspirin for a long time because it damages the stomach lining and causes kidney and liver damage.

It’s a time-honored tradition for many people to bring food to gatherings, such as holiday meals. How do you decide who brings what or how to travel with food if you’re asked to bring something? When assigning foods or deciding what to take, consider type of food and distance to travel.

Christmas came ten days early this year in Mason, Texas. The Puncher coaches, trainers, and football team gave the town an early gift of the Class 1A Division 1 State Football Championship, the first the school has won. And they did it in Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, under the big lights and on television and with the world watching.

My son, John, is a great cook, and every year, for the last 10 or 12, he’s been called upon to bake two of his pumpkin pies for the annual Thanksgiving get-together. We’ve tried other recipes, but none of them measure up to John’s, so the Innis Clan has declared it the “BEST” of the bunch.
