Thanksgiving.
Brought to you in living Technicolor.
And bigger than any wide screen TV.
Don’t touch that dial.
The moment has come.
Dinner is served.
Thanksgiving—a traditional meal of many colors.
Equal to a painter’s palette.
Each dish bringing something different to the table.
Kinda like people.
The golden brown turkey.
The golden yellow yams.
Turkey dressing colored in camouflage.

At Thanksgiving time, thoughts turn to friendships. They come like gentle waves kissing parched beaches, each of them welcome.
It is a season to value friendships, particularly when death takes a friend away.
Such are my memories—sweet as the aroma of holiday foods—of Ann Garms, who died recently at age 95….
*****
Life was not a gallop for her.

Thanksgiving is a time to be grateful and an opportunity to thank those people who make our lives easier and happier. So, I want to thank Nancy Scholibo, the library board members, all the Friends of the Library, the Mason Study Club, the Mason Garden Club, Judge Bearden and the county commissioners, Mayor Hinckley and the city commissioners, our guest artists and quilters who allow us to enjoy and display their works, and all of our volunteers for everything they do that makes the library b ...

Understanding “natural health” is sometimes confusing because our society likes things fixed with a single pill. A natural approach to health focuses on underlying causes. In other words, a naturopath would not recommend aspirin for a headache, but would try to determine if the headache resulted from mineral deficiencies, food sensitivities, blood sugar imbalances or stress and would make recommendations to restore balance to the person so that the headaches did not occur.

You can hardly pick up a gun magazine anymore without coming across a lot of ads for laser sights, which seem to have become the ubiquitous modification in the firearms world these days. Many of the ads make claims I’ve wondered at, such as the one about criminals wetting their pants when they look down and see a red dot on their chest.

It's the Thanksgiving holiday. This year, the number of events and celebrations over the long weekend just keep piling up.
Thursday, naturally enough, is Thanksgiving Day. Though set aside as a time to give thanks for the harvest and bounty of blessings we receive, it's slowly evolved into a day to overeat, watch parades and football, and take long naps on the sofa.
Friday has become known as BLACK FRIDAY, the busiest shopping day of the year.

Dear Community of Mason,
Last week my sister and I left my place near Loyal Valley hauling two horses on our way to Palo Duro Canyon for a week of camping and riding. Just outside Mason next to Grit Cemetery, I had a terrible accident with the trailer. My horse fell out of the back of the trailer when she spooked, broke her halter tie, and pushed open the back gate of the trailer.
