Jerry T. Taylor

Graveside services for Jerry T. Taylor, 75, of Tyler, were held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2008, at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler with Rev. Alfred Darst officiating under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.

Mr. Taylor passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2008, in Tyler at his residence.

He was born on September 2, 1933 in Kilgore to the late L. F. and Ruby White Taylor. Jerry and Beverly raised their children in Odessa where Jerry worked in a plastics refinery. Later he opened his own oilfield service company. Upon his first retirement, Jerry and Beverly moved to Mason where Jerry worked for Llano Partners playing with heavy equipment. Upon his second retirement he and Beverly and one daughter all moved to Tyler. Jerry was interested in welding, art and sculpture and was a heavy reader of westerns.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Bobby Taylor and Victor Taylor.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Beverly Taylor of Tyler; daughters, J. Scott Taylor of Tyler and Traci Patterson of Venus; son, J. Bruce Taylor of Streetman; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Bette Jane Boydstun and husband Calvo of Fort Worth.
