JV Punchers Compete in Llano Tournament
Wednesday, January 7, 2009 • Posted January 7, 2009

The Mason JV Punchers traveled to Llano over the holiday break to compete in the Llano tournament, facing some tough tests against other area squads. The Punchers played 3 games total, winning one and dropping the other two despite exceptional effort being displayed by our players.

In the first game of the tournament, the Punchers squared off against the always tough Blanco Panthers. After falling behind early in the game, the Punchers rallied valiantly to give themselves a chance to win in the end. The Panthers, however, were just too much and came away with a 5 point victory.

In the second game of the day, Mason faced Rouse, a brand new school from Leander. The game was very competitive throughout the first half, but eventually Rouse overwhelmed the Punchers by a 30 point margin.

The Punchers would come back the next day to face Johnson City, the only other 1A school in the tournament. The Punchers played well and put away the Eagles by 15 points to end the tournament on a good note.

A special thanks goes out to all of the parents and fans who made Mason basketball a part of their holiday break. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to seeing you at our next game.
