Enelma Carson Draper

Enelma Carson Draper, of Mason, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at the age of 95.

Enelma Carson Draper was born July 13, 1913, to Bevely and Alma See Carson in Mason County, Texas. She married Baze Alvin Draper on December 7, 1932, and two sons were born to this union: Driscol and Roddie.

She was a wonderful wife and mother and was very involved with her children’s activities, including being an active member of the PTA while they were in school. She was also involved with the Garden Club for a number of years. Throughout her life, Enelma was a very active member of the Church of Christ where she was a faithful servant and able church worker.

Enelma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Baze; one son, Roddie; one grandson, Mark Dawson; one great-granddaughter, Jessica Leigh Draper; and her brother, James Dale Carson. She is survived by her son, Driscol and his wife Martha; daughter-in-law, Mary K.; three grandchildren: Ben and wife Georgia Draper, Joel Draper, and Kaylyn and husband Dale Geistweidt. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren: James Draper, Julie and husband Jerry Sandoval, Joe Don Draper, Darci and husband Seth Hamilton, Dakota Draper, Jaci Draper, Kasidy and husband Ryan Blankenship, Matthew Geistweidt, Jacob Geistweidt, and Reid Geistweidt. Additionally, she is survived by one great-great-grandchild, Gage Hamilton; one sister, Mrs. A.J. Johnson; one sister-in-law, Mrs. James Dale Carson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Enelma Draper were held on Saturday, January 10, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Wayne DeDear officiating. Interment followed at Gooch Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mrs. Draper’s great-grandsons and great-grandsons-in-law: James Draper, Jerry Sandoval, Joe Don Draper, Seth Hamilton, Dakota Draper, Ryan Blankenship, Matthew Geistweidt, Jacob Geistweidt and Reid Geistweidt. Visitation with the family was on Friday, January 9, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home.

Memorials may be sent to the Cherokee Home for Children. Condolences may be sent to the family online at Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Mason Funeral Home.
