Amanda Cruz Martinez graduated from Texas State University - San Marcos with a Bachelors of Science degree in Respiratory Care and completed a Post-Baccalaureate Polysomnography course of studies on May 15, 2009. She is the daughter of Samuel and Griselda Martinez and is a 2003 graduate of Mason High School. Amanda was inducted into the Texas State chapter of Lambda Beta, the National Honor Society of Respiratory Care, was a finalist for the LBJ Outstanding Senior award and was the president of the Texas State Respiratory Care Student Association for the past two years. Amanda has had the opportunity to begin her master program while still completing her bachelors degree and will receive her Masters of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Occupational Education from Texas State in December 2010. She is a critical care registered respiratory therapist employed at University Hospital in San Antonio, Texas and is currently getting trained to be on the neonatal ground/air transport team. Amanda is also employed by Texas State University as a graduate assistant to the department of respiratory care.
