The descendents of Gottlieb and Fritz Brandenberger met in reunion on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the Eckert Civic Center in Mason Texas. Reunion Chairman, Lynn Reichenau welcomed all the descendents and then she opened the reunion with a prayer of thanksgiving for family and the meal we were to receive. She then introduced Dora Wright who has agreed to keep the historical information on the family with a computer data base. Dora requested that information which is not included in the current book be turned in to her.
Lynn then introduced our speaker for the day. Mr. Julius DeVos gave a recap of all the previous Brandenberger reunions. Many attendees were surprised to learn that early reunions were held on weekdays and not on weekends. It was also nice to learn that many of our reunion events like the reading on births, memorial for the deceased and the koffee klatsch stem from the first reunions and that we have kept many traditions on going. Copies of Mr. DeVos’s presentation are available.
The family then posed for the group photo.
A Barbeque lunch was then served by the Wayne Carl Hofmann family. Brisket, Sausage with beans, potato salad, slaw and all the trimmings was enjoyed by all for a modest $10.00 per plate. 100 plates were purchased
After lunch, Chairman Lynn invited attendees to partake of the kaffe klatsch with wonderful deserts brought by many family members.
Lynn then started the business meeting by noting the number of members representing each family. Henry(1)-0, Fritz(2)-7, Gottleib’s (3) family: John(3A)-18, George(3B)-14, Frank(3C)-22, Mathilda(3D)-3, James(Jim 3E)-61, Sophie(3F)-4. Total 126 people

Youngest person attending: Lindsey Cate Garner born 2/20/09 (Frank B. Family)
Oldest person attending: Pearl Leifeste at 96 years young (Matilda)
Newly married: Amanda & Landon Loeffler 3/21/09 (Jim)
Longest married: Patsy & Silas Brandenberger 63 years (Frank)

A Memorial service was held with a short prayer and the reading of the names of family members who have died since the last reunion.
