While Japanese war drums once struck fear in the hearts of ancient soldiers, they are now beating their thunderous sound on the stage and thrilling audiences around the world. This new generation of drummers, all young and energetic, will drum their way into the Texas Hill Country as the Kerrville Performing Arts Society presents the Yamato Drummers in their new show, “Fiesta!” The extravaganza is filled with positive energy and showcases the ten young instrumentalists on over 20 drums ranging in size from 20 pounds each…to their largest drum which weighs in at a mere 700 pounds!! Tickets for Yamato’s “Fiesta!” are available through the Cailloux Theater Box Office (830-896-9393) and range in price from $25-$45. For further information, visit www.kpas.org or www.yamato.jp.
