Members of the Mason County Historical Commission met to go through over 700 photos that were submitted for publication in the Commission’s latest book, Mason County, Texas, a pictorial history of the county from its earliest photo in 1876 through its Centennial in 1958. This is a very difficult process as the book can have a maximum of 240 photos and the photos that have been turned in are fantastic and most of them have never been published. Seated L-R are Charles Eckert, Margaret Brown, Linda Laury, Julius DeVos, Bob Laury, Scott Zesch (chairman of the committee), and Jane Hoerster. The book is being published by Arcadia Publishing Co. which specializes in pictorial history books. The book should be published and on sale by late summer or early fall. Cost will be $21.99.
