Sherry Alexander, board member of the Mason Community Foundation presents a check for $5,000 to Susan Grote of the Mason Tennis Association. The grant money will go toward a 2-phase revitalization plan for the Helen Tallent Tennis Center. First, $2,000 will be used to upgrade electrical service at the facility, to assure adequate and continuous lighting to the 10 courts, bathrooms, and concession stand throughout tournaments. The additional $3,000 will go toward a grounds improvement plan of landscaping and irrigation to prevent erosion around the courts. In addition to accommodating the renowned MISD tennis program, the tennis facility is available for use by the entire community, free of charge. Also pictured are MCF president, Brent Hinckley and board member, Rosemary Kruckemeyer; MTA treasurer, Pam Estes, and tennis team players.
