Raising Responsible Kids While Gaining Respect
Wednesday, January 14, 2009 • Posted January 14, 2009

Parenting is probably a bigger challenge today than it ever has been. Parents today wrestle with a myriad of obstacles to keeping peace and harmony in the family, while trying to raise responsible children. They are bombarded with what’s right… what’s wrong…try this…try that…read this book…and all other sorts of questions and quick fix promises. If the goal of your parenting is to send honest, responsible children out into the world, who can take care of themselves, resist peer pressure, and still love to come home and be with you, then don’t miss the opportunity to come learn with other parents who have the same goal.

A Love and Logic parenting class will begin January 20th and run for six weeks. You do not have to be able to attend all classes to find some real joyful techniques for stopping arguing, ending bedtime battles, handling sibling rivalry, making homework hassle-free, making meal time easier, and ending battles while shopping. Parenting actually can make you deliriously happy and Love and Logic techniques do not try to alter family values in anyway.

The class will be free and will be facilitated by Jeff Grote, Elementary and Junior High Counselor. The first class will meet in the elementary library, Tuesday, January 20th, at 6:00 p.m. and baby sitting will be provided. Alternate meeting times and dates will be discussed, so if you can not make it on Tuesday, please feel free to call the school at 325-347-1122 ext. 239.for further information. It would be great if you could call to let the school know you are coming and how many children we need to plan for.
