What a wonderful weekend at The Eckert James River Bat Cave Preserve! We had a volunteer work day and though there were only six of us, we kicked it into gear and got it done. Selene Mitlyng, Dakota Kolton-Mitlyng, Ofer Kolton, Adam Kolton-Mitlyng Dalton Ritter and I headed out at a little after seven in the morning and got busy moving big rocks from the parking area, clearing the trails, lining rocks on the trails, trimming brush, clearing the cave area and weedeating the seating area. Whew!! That makes me tired just recalling it all. What a day! The weather was excellent and it was cool enough to actually enjoy being outside. Now, we are ready to open on Thursday, May 13th at 6 P.M.
Come on out to the greatest little eight acres on this planet. Enjoy the flowers, bugs and beasts...and then get set for a great evening of bat entertainment. Admission is $5.00 for persons six years of age and older.
Once again, thank you Selene Mitlyng, Dakota Kolton-Mitlyng, Ofer Kolton, Adam Kolton-Mitlyng and Dalton Ritter for all of your hard work that will make The Eckert James River Bat Cave Preserve a delightful memory for the multitudes that will visit this season!!
