The Mason County Chamber of Commerce held a formal ribbon cutting on Monday for its newest member, Dependable Cleaning Service. Owner Melissa McCollum shared the history of her entry into the business world. "My name is Melissa McCollum and I recently moved back to Mason with my family. Some of you may remember us. My husband Kevin and I owned the Fed-Ex Shipping Store on El Paso Street. When we sold our building in 2008, we moved to Abilene because we already owned a house there and it was an easy move for us. Our roots run through the Hill Country though; with my parents residing in Llano, where I was raised, and Kevin’s grandmother and uncle live here in Mason. After two years of living in Abilene, we were ready to move HOME! I started a house cleaning business called "Dependable Cleaning Service" about a year ago and have decided to continue this business in Mason. I enjoy meeting new people and look forward to serving in this community for many years to come. If you or someone you know needs a home or office cleaned, please give me a call at 325-347-1200. I offer weekly, bi-monthly or one-time cleaning services." Pictured, left to right: Missy Gibbs, Melissa McCollum and Dakota Wawrzyniak.
