Bluebonnet CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Mason, McCulloch, Menard and Kimble Counties is having their third annual "Hearts for Hope Gala" on February 5, 2011. The event will take place at the Old Peanut Mill Steakhouse in Mason, TX. It is a prime rib dinner, live and silent auction, and dance with Jody Nix. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at Mason National Bank, Chamber office, or here. This event is one of their largest fundraisers for the year and allows them to continue serving the abused and neglected children in their care for another year. Currently 13 CASA volunteers are serving 49 children. Bluebonnet CASA recruits and trains volunteer advocates to serve and represent the children in the foster care system as their Guardian ad Litem. Their volunteers facilitate placement of these children in safe, loving, permanent homes. Bluebonnet CASA is a 501 c3 organization. Some of the auction items are: jewelry and artwork from local artisans, turkey hunt, exciting getaways, and they will be auctioning off an autographed guitar and photograph from country music star Jack Ingram. Chances are also available for the playhouse, pictured above.
