The Board of Directors of the Mason Community Foundation met March 15 to consider the grant requests from several local organizations to be funded from the profits of the Mason Thrift Store. The Board approved some of the applications, including a request from the Mason County Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber is currently remodeling and modernizing its Visitors’ Center on the north side of the square, and they plan to use the funds from the Community Foundation to paint, add more display space and to update existing equipment. Pictured at left is the Chamber Executive Director, Kristi Nunez accepting a check from Community Foundation board member, Debra Schovajsa. More grants have been approved or are pending, and it is expected that more than $25,000 will be provided for local projects this spring from the profits of the Mason Thrift Store thanks to your support and assistance.
