On Saturday, October 8, 2011, the Class of 1961 gathered in the home of their high school days, the current River of Life Church. Coffee, conversation and the indentification of baby photos occupied the morning hours. Moving down memory lane, the class then had a photo "op" at the site of their first grade photo in 1949, the steps of the Old Grammer School. During their fourth grade year, the present Grammer School was opened. A barbecue lunch was catered by Wayne Carl and Tana Hofmann and hosted by Ronny and Jane Zesch at the Grossville School House. Stories of people, places and events, and how classmates had been shaped by all of these things, were shared. World War II and the dought of the 1950s decreased job opportunities in Mason and the class of 80-plus first graders dwindled to a graduating class of 30-plus.
