At their January 9th meeting the Friends of the Library made a $3,000 donation to the Library for book purchases. The Library purchases 8 to 12 books each week and spends $7,000 to $8,000 a year to keep current material in our collection. Have you noticed the new book section in the Library? It is by the coffee corner just past the magazine section. That is where you can find the latest acquisitions in Fiction, Non-fiction, Texana and Large Print. State and national budget cuts have eliminated our traditional sources of funding for books. Friends of the Library will continue fund raising throughout the year for the Library. On March 31st Friends will hold their annual book and bake sale. Please support the Library and join Friends of the Library.
