St. Joseph Catholic Church First Communion Sunday for 2012 was observed on April 15, during 8:00 a.m. Mass with Rev. Melvin Dornak, pastor, presiding. Six first communicants had been preparing for this special event in their lives by participating in their regular Sunday morning Religious Education Classes and also in extra classes of intense sacrament preparation. Each of them felt that they were ready to receive the Body and Blood of Christ and their pastor, parents and catechists agreed. The group in alphabetical order are Alexander Adames, Jase Marvin Eckert, Hayden Lane Harding, Joshua Morquecho, Jorge Ibarra Perez and Isela Noemi Rodriguez. Helping their parents to prepare them for this sacrament were Maria Medrano, catechist, Monica Medrano, catechist’s aide and Gladys Garner, DRE.
