A Mountain of Pumpkin Bread
Wednesday, December 19, 2012 • Posted December 19, 2012

On Friday, December 7th, the 5th graders of Mason Jr. High, their teachers and many volunteers prepared over 130 loaves of pumpkin bread. The kids worked all morning mixing and baking pumpkin bread to donate to the Mason Food Bank. They also made some loaves to sell to teachers to collect money for ingredients and give back to the food bank.

A check in the amount of $115 was presented to Barbara Brown, a representative of the Mason Food Bank. It was a wonderful act of kindness for the students to learn about giving back to their community.

Many thanks to volunteers who helped, including Rhona & Chad Lemke, Caren Rueffer, Melanie Eckert, Sheri Martin, KK Brannies, Paul & Judy Branch, Lisa Heath, Judy Holstein, Beatrice Ramon, Ann Lehmberg, Larry Kahan, Roxie and John Benefield.

Special thanks to St. Paul Lutheran Church for letting us invade their fellowship hall to mix and bake all of our bread.
