Those who have seen Joe Ely know that he always gives his all. He knows how to put on a good ol’ show. The Odeon Theater in Mason is proud to bring Joe back by popular demand. His performances at the Odeon have always been absolutely electric. Joe is the consummate Texas singer/songwriter whose music touches on honky-tonk, Texas Country, Tex-Mex and rock and roll. Make your reservations now for another great performance by Joe Ely at the Odeon Saturday January 26.

The award winning, genre-bending, triple-threat musician Carolyn Wonderland will bring her talent to the Odeon with a show February 16. Carolyn has recently won the Austin Music Award for Best Female Vocalist and Best Blues artist. She sounds like Janis Joplin and Bonnie Raitt and plays like Stevie Ray Vaughn. Whether playing her guitar, lap steel, trumpet or mandolin Wonderland will blow the roof off the Odeon. February 16 will be a date to remember.

Texas bluesman, Hill Country favorite and Hilltop Cafe neighbor Johnny Nicholas will perform again at the Odeon Saturday March 23. The rhythm and blues traditionalist is always expanding the blues legacy. Once seeing him perform on piano, guitar or harmonica it’s hard to decide which is his “first” instrument. Johnny Nicholas is an amazing talent. Stephen Bruton says that Johnny Nicholas is one of the best bluesmen ever, black or white. Mark your calendar for another great show at the Odeon.

Katie Holmes brings her special talent to the Odeon April 20. At the young age of 5 years, when asked If she wanted to play violin or fiddle, Katie stated “I want to play the music you clap your hands and stomp your feet to”. And so it began. Learning from and spending time around fiddle greats Johnny Gimble, Mark O’Connor, Buddy Spicher, Paul Anastasio, and Randy Elmore, Katie grew up inspired by music of older generations. With a passion for Django Reinhardt and Stephanne Grappelli’s Hot Jazz, Katie’s brand of music has been coined as “Sling Music”. This will be a red letter day for the Odeon.

Tickets for each performance are $20 per person. For more information or to make reservations call Dennis or K Evans at 325 347 6781. www.theodeontheater.com
