Dora Delgado Landeros

Dora Delgado Landeros, of Mason, passed away on Sunday, January 13, at the age of 71. Dora was born in Houston, Texas, on August 16, 1941, to Jose Anguiano Delgado and Geneva Delgado.

She lived most of her life in Houston and Mason before moving to Cedar Park a couple of years ago so she could be near her daughter. Dora was a loving and caring person, but she was not afraid to express her opinions! She was very charitable and volunteered her time with Girl Scouts and with CASA. Dora was also blessed and honored to have several God children. In earlier years she was a member of the Choir at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Dora enjoyed playing bingo and trivia games at the care center where she resided in Cedar Park and she never missed the Mass that the deacons brought to her at the care center.

Mrs. Landeros is survived by her husband Jose Socorro Landeros of Mason, her children Martha Hinojosa and husband Amador of Cedar Park, Dennis Velez Sr. and wife Juliette of Liberty Hill, Refugio Velez Sr. of Houston, Cynthia Guerra and husband Michael of Houston, Tony Landeros and wife Wendi of Austin, Maria Alcazar and husband Alfredo of Gregory Portland and Kathy Lloyd and husband Travis of California, her siblings Jose Delgado Jr., Marcus Delgado, Roberto Quesada and Neireida Quesada all of Houston, her step-mother Tita Delgado of Houston, 20 grandchildren: Jim Wayne Rodriguez (Amanda), Amanda Castillo (Eric), Dennis Velez Jr. (Antonia), Shane Rodriguez, Benito Alcazar, Megan Chavez (Trey), Zach Velez, Misty Alcazar, Mercedes Landeros, Vicky Alcazar, Jacob Alcazar, Drake Lloyd, Renee Velez, Gloria Velez, Michael Guerra, Lisa Guerra, Johnathon Guerra, Letty LaFave, Henry Valencia and Allison Valencia and 13 great-grandchildren: D. J. Velez, Ethan Bernal, Aiden Chavez, Alexis Longoria, Isaiah Ramirez-Rodriguez, Kori Rodriguez, Avery Rodriguez, Kendall Rodriguez, Andrew Sanchez, Christopher Sanchez, Lauren Marmolejo, Jarron Rangel and Jaaziah Rangel.

She will also be missed by her most precious pet Cinco. Dora was preceded in death by her husband Rex Velez and son Carlos Velez.

The Funeral Mass for Dora Delgado Landeros will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 16, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mason with Fr. Melvin Dornak officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Cemetery at Camp Air. The Rosary was Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home.
