TSR hits the open road on Friday, Jan 16th, landing at the Hard 8 BBQ in Brady, Texas! This is the start of the new 2009 Songwriting season and the “8” is a fabulous venue for this event: great food, great music and family fun. It is free to come hear Texas’ most creative and excellent song writers. January’s TSR features David Byboth and the rounds are open to all comers at 8 p.m. Feel free to chime in deep in the Heart of Texas.
TSR says, “We are pleased to welcome star songwriter David Byboth to Brady, (The Heart of) Texas.”
With the release of his debut CD “My Mind’s Eye,” produced by Ray Wylie Hubbard, David Byboth is charging full bore into the Folk Americana scene. After more than 25 years of songwriting, this Texas Hill Country resident has put together a fine collection of songs about real people and real stories. David is currently playing folk music venues, coffee houses, house concerts and festivals. He plays acoustic guitar and mandolin. His shows are typically solo acoustic and suited for listening venues.
“With just an acoustic guitar and a story to tell, David can hold his own with the best of us.” – Vince Bell
“My Mind’s Eye is a serious CD” – Tom Geddie, Buddy Magazine.
“Listening to David’s music is like someone putting my favorite warm, dry blanket on me. My soul was soothed with both story and song. I truly felt as if I was given the opportunity to see into his mind’s eye.” – Dana Jones, Cuervo Acres House Concerts
The show case begins at 6 p.m. with In the Rounds, a group of members that share songs and swap stories. Included are Don Crowder, Eric Thacker and Jerialice.
There is an element of surprise as any member is always invited up to participate during the rounds. New member and Brady songwriter Brendan Weatherman will also be presenting original songs on Jan 16th at the Hard 8, according to Arsenault, the director.
Between 8:30 and 9:00 p.m. open mic begins for newbies, poets and jams.
Contact Jerialice @ 512-217-4596 for more info.
TSR is affiliated with The Dallas Songwriters Association and welcomes all songwriters, Texan or otherwise.
