Mason Elementary is putting Habit #3: Put First Things First into action! Putting first things first is realizing what is important and to do it before playing. Putting first things first means that you work first then you can play.
Animals that truly hibernate have to put first things first. One animal in the USA, the woodchuck, is a true hibernator. The main challenge for the woodchuck is to have enough food stored in its home to live through the winter. So the woodchuck has to prioritize and realize what is important to do. If an animal can put first things first you can too.
Pretend it is a Saturday and you don’t have anything to do, but your parents want you to clean your room, the best thing to do is……PUT FIRST THINGS FIRST! You wouldn’t want to play first and then have to do it later that night. You probably wouldn’t have time to do it and you would get in trouble. I always do my homework before I swing because doing my homework is the most important thing I have to do. I have found that when I get all the important things done I still have time to play.
Now that you know about Habit #3: Put First Things First, it is your time to shine and put it into action just like Mason Elementary.
