The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, Jan. 13th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 40 members and 1 visitor in attendance.

Lion Harold Hoerster was responsible for the program and introduced Nancy Woolridge who spoke about the "Steady Steps" program. Steady Steps is a child-development program that functions as an out-reach ministry as the First United Methodist Church. The charge is on a sliding scale fee depending on the income of the parents. There are eight full-time employees that instruct 51 students in the program. The Steady Steps Program is fully licensed with the State of Texas. Pancake Supper- January 23-High School Gym Common Area.

The club's next meeting will be held Tuesday, January 20th, at noon at Zavala's. The program chairman will be Lyle Johansen.

The Mason Lions Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also, please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
