The eleventh Mason County Habitat for Humanity home is currently being constructed at 605 Brazos Avenue (one block east of FM 386 by the old Girl Scout Hut). Care A Vanners from Louisiana, Kansas, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Washington and Texas have joined local volunteers in building the home.
The three bedroom, 2 bath home is being built using Advanced Framing and energy saving techniques. This year’s partner family is Ardrey Morquercho and her daughter Khrista. They are helping build the home by putting “Sweat Equity” hours in toward the construction of the home.
Mason County Habitat for Humanity is a Christian-based ministry whose mission is to build safe, affordable housing for families that would otherwise be unable to own their own home. The homes are sold “at cost” to the partner family.
The public is invited to stop by and visit with our out of town volunteers and observe the cost and energy saving building methods being used.
