The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, February 26th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 36 members and three visitors in attendance.

Lion Richard Taylor was responsible for the program and introduced Mitch Bell of Hill Country Solar, who spoke about solar power, both off grid, and grid connected systems.

Hill Country Solar are specialists in solar pv (photovoltaic) power systems. They have installed systems for the Border Patrol, and for Immigration along the Texas-Mexico border, as well as two or three here in Mason County, with the latest at Richard Taylor's Blue Mountain Peak Rnach.

This was a very interesting and informative program with several members visting with Mr. Bell after the program to get more information on this subject.

The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, March 5th, at noon at Willow Creek Cafe. The program will be the monthly business meeting.

The Mason Lion’s Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
