Punchers Outmuscled By San Saba, 13-3

Despite a big day at the dish from Derek Crockett, who finished 3-3, Punchers lost 13-3 to San Saba at San Saba on Tuesday. San Saba ‘s Kelan Verette, Jordan Watson and Tj Hibler combined for six hits and six RBIs. In the top of the 1st inning, Drigo Martinez led off with a walk. Derek Crockett hit a ball to centerfield that Martinez went 1st to 3rd on. Martinez scampered home on a wild pitch. In the top of the 3rd inning Miguel Castillo led off with a missile to center. He was eventually caught stealing. Drigo Martinez was then hit by the pitch. Hunter Kunc singled to left field. Derek Crockett singled to right field scoring Martinez. In the top of the sixth inning Hunter Kunc doubled to centerfield. With two outs and two strikes, Sammy Martinez singled to left scoring Kunc. Despite good approaches at the plate, this was the last time that the Punchers would score.
