Operation Orphans Fishing Camps
Wednesday, March 13, 2013 • Posted March 15, 2013

Operation Orphans, Inc. will hold fishing camps for underpriviledged boys, April 13th, and girls, April 27th.

The groups will arrive at Camp Gene Ashby from various child care facilities and foster homes the Friday afternoon prior to their fishing date. On Saturday, the groups of children and their volunteer guides will travel to area ranches eager to try their hand at catching perch, bass and catfish in area ponds, tanks and river areas. The groups practice catch and release unless landowners wish to remove excess stocks from their tanks and ponds.

At the present time, Operation Orphans, Inc. is seeking additional tanks or ponds for the kids to fish. Anyone who would like to host the excited youngsters and offer a wholesome outdoor experience should contact Camp Supervisors, Jerry and Lyla Crouch, phone: 325.347.6745. Operation Orphans, Inc. provides the fishing equipment, tackle, bait, food, snacks and transportation.
