Today’s the day.

March 20th.

This is it.

The S word.

Yep.

SPRING.

Spring has sprung.

And new is in.

New blooms.

New growth.

New grass.

New paint.

New house.

New love.

New babies.

New moves.

Such as The Shooting Star.

Shooting across the square.

From east to north.

Into the old Hofmann Dry Goods building.

The Commercial Bank is fixing to move too.

But only a few feet.

Soon they’ll return to their newly remodeled building.

With its new look.

Inside and out.

On the corner of the square.

See Spring at The Green House.

Herbs of all kinds for the garden.

Lemon thyme.

Italian parsley.

Rosemary.

To name a few.

Tomato plants too.

Plus more.

Spring has sprung in front of the Mason Health Clinic.

A plethora of bluebonnets.

A sure sign, for sure.

Pink evening primroses also popping up around town.

Things are on the move.

Birds and bees.

Red ants and lizards.

And rattlesnakes.

‘Tis the season.

Cool mornings.

Warm days.

Perfect to stop and smell the roses.

But watch where you step.

That’s Mason.

Renee Walker is an author, poet, and real estate broker on the square.
