April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. The members of the Mason County Child Welfare Board are seeking to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect and to encourage the people of Mason to support children and families. To that end, we have scheduled several activities, such as “Go Blue Day” on Wednesday, April 10th. Children and adults are encouraged to wear blue, symbolizing the bruised and the battered.
Texans in Motion, sponsored by Mason County AgriLife Extension and the First United Methodist Church’s Wesley Nurse, will have a Child Safety Seat Check event in conjunction with the Easter Egg Hunt and Hamburger Luncheon.
