March 10th Accident Claims One Life

An accident on Highway 377 on March 10th claimed the life of 42 year old Austin resident, Alicia Annette Brothers.

Mrs. Brothers was the driver of a 1998 Honda traveling west on Highway 87. About one mile west of Bluff Creek Road, on a sharp turn in the highway, her vehicle crossed the center line of the road and struck a 2002 GMC pickup, pulling a trailer, heading east on Highway 377. According to reports, the Honda struck the GMC pickup, spun around and came to rest in the highway, sustaining heavy damage to the front and left sides of the vechicle.

The impact of the collision caused the pickup to spin around and it came to rest on the south side of the highway. The trailer separated from the pickup and it came to rest on the north side of the highway.

The pickup was driven by David Lawrence Maxwell (59) of La Porte, Texas. Robert Henrich (62)was a passenger in the vehicle.

The Brothers vehicle also contained three other passengers: Steve H. Brothers (50), Jessie Brothers (9), and Quinn Brothers (12). Alicia Brothers was pronounced dead at the scene, while Steve Brothers was transported by Air Evac to Brackenridge Hospital in Austin. The two Brothers children were transported by ambulance to Scott & White Hospital in Llano.

David Maxwell was transported by ambulance to the Kimble County Hospital in Junction.
