Wednesday, March 27, 2013 • Posted March 28, 2013

Year number FOUR!

It’s the 4th Annual event …and Mason welcomes our guests! Art in Art, Texas offers an opportunity for artists who like to paint, sketch or photograph in plein air (outdoors) to get together. Most of the artists come from various art guilds/organizations from the Austin area.

Registration begins at the ART General Store each day. On Friday April 5th the artists will be painting and photographing the town of Mason.

In past years local people have dressed in western or 1800’s attire. The artists loved this! So have some fun and strut your stuff on Friday, April 5th. Each registered artist will be wearing a yellow lanyard so that you can give them a warm ‘welcome’ to Mason!

This year the artists have been invited to show and sell their work at the Shooting Star’s new location on the north side of the square. A special thanks to Carolyn Copeland who stepped forward to offer this new aspect of the weekend. ART in ART artists work will be on display on Friday and Saturday so make sure you go by and see some on their work. Show and Tell is each evening, when artists get together to show what was painted during the day, visit and eat (dutch,BYOB). Mason residents are welcome to come to these evening dinners and meet the artists. Friday night will be at Willow Creek Café and Saturday at Mi Pueblo Mexican Restaurant. Both dinners begin at 6pm.

ART in ART people will be arriving Thursday evening. Registration begins early in ART at the general store each day. Friday will be painting and photographing around Mason. Dinner that evening is at 6pm at Willow Creek Cafe. On Saturday, Tom Titus has graciously and enthusiastically offered his Flat Tire Ranch for the day’s artistic adventures. Thanks Tom for showing such warm hospitality to this group. Dinner on Saturday is at Mi Pueblo. And all artwork at the Shooting Star will be picked up by 5 on Saturday afternoon so go by early to see the artwork.

Dress western, early settler, cowboy, rustler, cavalry and welcome the ART in ART artist to Mason County. Plan on meeting and visiting with the artists over a great meal at one of our local restaurants in the evenings at six.
