Ramona Kelso

Ramona Kelso, of Mason, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, at the age of 84.

Ramona is survived by her sister, Betty Kelso, of Mason and many cousins. Funeral services for Ramona Kelso were held on Thursday, March 28, at 10:00 a.m. at the Mason Funeral Home chapel. Interment followed in the Gooch Cemetery. Mark Kirby from the Mason church of Christ led the services.

Visitation with the family was Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Dane Phillips, Tim Thomas, Michael Cope, Joel Draper, Kendal Hemphill and Johnny Fleming. Honorary pallbearers were James Kingston, Merle Cope, Driscol Draper, Kenneth Davis, George Schoenfeld and Corky Mueller.

Ramona was born in Brady, Texas, on July 17, 1928, to William Dee Kelso and Ruth Evelyn Herron Kelso. The family moved to Mason when Ramona was six. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Despite her physical limitations, Ramona always maintained a positive outlook. She often said and truly believed “The Lord has something for me.” She was a wonderful Christian person and she loved being around children. Ramona owned and operated Ramona’s Arts and Crafts for 41 years and was involved with anything in Mason that had something to do with crafts.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Mason Funeral Home.
