Llano Fiddle Fest Weekend 2013
Wednesday, April 3, 2013 • Posted April 4, 2013

Start rosining the bows! Llano Fiddle Fest Weekend is coming back to Llano April 5th through 7th. The main event will be the 36th Llano Open fiddle contest to be held on Saturday, April 6th at the historic LanTex Theater. Once again some of Texas’ best fiddlers are expected to show up and thoroughly entertain the audience with their Texas fiddling skills. Included in the weekend of activities will be the popular air fiddle contest, Saturday night concert with the Texas Power Trio, fiddle jams, antique musical instrument/fiddle history exhibit, “Can’t We All Just Get Along?” twin fiddle contest, early Texas fiddle tune presentation, and on Sunday, a service followed by breakfast and Amazing Grace fiddles by the river. This will be a first for the twin fiddle contest which accepts any style or genre of music to be played by the competitors as long as there are two fiddles/violins performing. Judging will be based on technical skill and performance.

There is no charge to the fiddle contestants or any weekend activity. Donations will be collected at all events and will go to local charities or nonprofit groups. Llano Fiddle Fest is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. A current schedule of events and photos from past fiddle contests are available at
