The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, March 26th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 31 members and three visitors in attendance.

Lion Michael Murphy was responsible for the program and he spoke about his involvement with the Riata Service Organization on making Heritage Park more user friendly.

Dr. Murphy is a retired Landscape Design professor at Texas A&M, and is very qualified in this area. He spoke about things he could see that could be done to make Heritage Park more inviting by planting some trees and making walkways to funnel the foot traffic to this area. The program was very informative and enjoyable.

The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, April 2nd, at noon at Willow Creek Cafe. The program chairman will be the monthly business meeting.

The Mason Lion’s Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
