Second Chance – Mason Animal Rescue is excited to announce that we were the recipient of a $1,000.00 grant from the Mason Community Foundation to assist with the group’s spay and neuter campaign.
With the original donation and this grant, Second Chance is hoping to significantly reduce the number of litters of kittens and puppies ending up at the city pound, or worse, on the side of the road. Everyone can help in this effort by having their animals spayed or neutered and by encouraging friends and neighbors to do the same.
The free spay/neuter program for income eligible residents of Mason County is still going on and we encourage everyone who is interested to apply. If you would like to show your support there are still green Second Chance yard signs available at Topaz Confections and Strategic Oilfield Services on the square.
This week’s pet of the week is Bonnie, a hound and Rhodesian ridgeback blend. Bonnie is about two years old and a sweet girl. She will need a loving and patient family who will give her lots of attention and exercise.
Bonnie is very friendly but she was not taught many manners and is not leash broken. With a little time and effort, though, Bonnie will make a wonderful addition to a loving family.
If you are interested in Bonnie or any of the other cats and dogs available for adoption, please visit Second Chance’s webpage at www.secondchancemason.com or take a look at our Facebook page.
