Food Handler's Course
CEA-FCS
Wednesday, May 1, 2013 • Posted May 1, 2013

Mason County AgriLife Extension Service and Mason County Chamber of Commerce are offering a Food Handler’s Course on Tuesday, May 21 from 3-5 p.m. in the meeting room at Willow Creek restaurant on the Square. The Course is $20 a person, and each participant will earn a Texas Food Handler card which is good for 2 years.

I will have a Spanish translator working with me on this course, so if you know of someone who needs the course in Spanish, please help get the word out. I do not always have this help available!

Please sign up by May 17 by emailing Kristy at kmpowell@tamu.edu or calling the Extension office at 347-6459. At this time let me know if you prefer your materials in English or Spanish.

This course is recommended for all food service employees to help promote the service of safe food. It is a basic overview of food safety principles and practices that are necessary to ensure you serve safe food at your establishment. It would also be a good overview for volunteers who handle food, for bed and breakfast owners, or caterers and their employees.

Even if you do not currently work in the food industry (but you would like to), showing the initiative to take this training could show prospective employers that you would be a good hire!
