Spanish to English Classes a Success!
Wednesday, May 8, 2013 • Posted May 8, 2013

The Mason Co. M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library and the Friends of the Library are half-way through our twelve-week Spanish to English classes.

This program, which is a new endeavor, takes committed volunteers and students to succeed, and we have both! The classes are full each week with students numbering from 12 to 22 and teachers numbering from 6 to 11.

Teachers and students take turns providing meals, and there are two very dedicated babysitters who care for up to 13 children a week. Several of the students have gotten library cards. Everyone feels the excitement and sees the positive rapport between students and teachers.

This program is just one of the many ways that your library and the Friends of the Library serve our community, and we are proud to do so! Your library’s not just books anymore!!
