K.C. Coleman To Graduate From Grace Christian School

K.C. Coleman will be receiving his high school diploma from Grace Christian School at the GCS Graduation and Awards Ceremony on Friday, May 17, 2013.

K.C. has attended Grace Christian School since first grade. He has completed his education in only eleven years. During those years, K.C. has been on the GCS Honor Roll and has attained the Highest Academic Achievement Award each year. He also received the Outstanding English Award his junior year.

Throughout his high school career, K.C. participated in various activities. He served on the Grace Christian School Student Council as Reporter, Journalist, and President. Community service has been important to him. He has served in the Moms-in-Touch Ministry, the Mason Nutrition Program, the Mason County Food Bank, the Habitat for Humanity, and the Riata Club. K.C. also took part in the annual Christian School Finals Competitions at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. While there, he competed in the categories of academics, art/photography, music, and drama.

In 2012, when K.C. attended the Christian School Finals Competition, a UIL-type competition for Christian Schools throughout North, Central, and South America, he received the following awards: 1st Bible Challenge, 1st Original Monologue (Show Cased), 1st Natural Photography, 1st Seascape Photography, 1st Essay Writing, 2nd Oil Painting, 3rd Geography Challenge, 4th Poetry Writing, and 5th Piano Solo, 5th Expressive Reading. K.C. was also a member of the 2011 competition and received the following awards: 2nd Academic Bowl (team event), 3rd Banners (team event), 3rd Dialogue (team event), 3rd Oil Painting (Show Cased), 3rd Landscape/Seascape Photography, 5th Action Photography, 5th Calligraphy, 5th On-Site Engineering (team event), 6th Piano Solo.

Because of his achievements at the CSFC at ORU, K.C. was recruited to attend the University. He has been awarded a Whole Person Scholarship due to his academics, character, and leadership accomplishments. He was also awarded a Theatre Scholarship based on his drama audition. K.C. will be majoring in Drama/Television/Film Performance in the fall at ORU.

In his spare time, K.C. enjoys piano. He, his dad, and his sister (Deena’ Coleman Anderegg of Llano, Texas, who taught K.C. how to play the piano) for the last couple of years have enjoyed playing Christmas music for the elderly in nursing homes in Llano. He has also given beginner piano lessons and has entertained at “Light up the Town” in Mason. K.C. has helped set up tables and chairs for the Castell Volunteer Fire Department Barbeque for many years.

This young man values his Christian education and is excited to begin the next stage in his life. In the last several years, he has been inspired to pen many ideas for films and plays. He believes God has given him these ideas in order to reach those who do not know the love of our Eternal Father.

K.C. is the son of John A. and Connie D. Coleman of Castell, Texas. His grandparents are Laquita (Deedee) Fiedler and the late Willie Fielder of Castell and John C. and June Coleman of Glascow, Montana, and the late Lola Coleman.
