Amber Cooper Graduates UT Austin
Wednesday, May 15, 2013 • Posted May 15, 2013

Amber Lauren Cooper was valedictorian of her class in Junction back in 2008. Her parents are Mark and Kim Cooper (and brother Chase) of Junction; grandparents are Roy and Sheila Cooper of Mason, and Maxine King of Granbury, Texas.

She is so lucky to have her two great grandmothers, Clara Velma Starks and Viletha Cooper of Mason. We are so proud of her and look forward to joining her and other family members and friends in celebrating her graduation May 18th, 2013, from the University of Texas at Austin.

To many people's surprise, Amber played two years on the UT rugby team and was awarded "Rookie of the Year" her freshman year. She was also nominated for "Student Employee of the Year." She worked on campus in the Germanic studies department for several years. During the past two summers, she completed an internship at Shortel, a telecommunications company in Austin. With this experience under her belt, Amber then decided to take a job with the State of Texas and is presently employed at the university.

With her background in engineering, a BA degree in Computer Science, and a minor in German, she has been offered and accepted a position with Imirus, a digital edition partner of Brown Printing Company conveniently located in Austin. She will start her new job in June and is anticipating a wonderful career as a software engineer/designer.
