Why Did the Thrift Store Cross the Road?
Wednesday, May 22, 2013 • Posted May 22, 2013

The Mason Community Thrift Store is moving to the Old Post Office building on the southwest corner of the Square. Our current leased site at 330 Ft. McKavitt is no longer available. That building has been sold. We are planning to move before Round-Up weekend in mid-July. Until the move is completed we will continue to operate at our current site.

The Mason Community Foundation, which operates the Community Thrift Store, is purchasing the Old Post Office. After an extensive search the Board did not find a rental property which met our needs and long term commitment to serving the community. The Old Post Office at 206 Moody meets our criteria for adequate space (3,000 sq. ft.) for sales and storage and better accessibility and parking. It also has good visibility and aesthetics and requires minimal remodeling and repairs.

We are excited about the changes we will be able to make at the new location. The Board, staff and volunteers of the Mason Community Thrift Store look forward to seeing you at our new location!
