Junction's Track Star Succeeds at UIL State Track Meet

Kaitlin Lumpkins of Junction, granddaughter of Rolly and Gloria Lumpkins of Mason, competed in the UIL State Track and Field Championships, May 10th and 11th. Kaitlin represented Junction High School well, bringing home two medals from the State Meet. On Friday, Kaitlin competed in the class 1A D1 high jump, clearing a height of 5 feet 5 inches to capture the Silver Medal. On Saturday, Kaitlin competed in the 100 hurdles and came from behind, running a personal best 15.89 seconds, to earn the Bronze Medal! It was a great weekend for Kaitlin and her family. Kaitlin has been named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association All-State Track and Field Team last week as well!
