The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, May 21st, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 35 members and three visitors in attendance.

Lion Chase Smith was responsible for the program and introduced Pastor Cliff Krcha who spoke about the operations of the Ministerial Alliance.

Pastor Krcha shared a PowerPoint presentation of all the things the Ministerial Alliance is involved in, including the food pantry, outreach programs and prayer room, etc. He said their goals are to meet as many of the needs of the people of Mason as possible. The future is looking very good.

The students receiving the Lions Club scholarships were Amber Herrera (the R. Clinton Schulze Education Scholarship) and Courtney Brown and Lorri Ann Drazan (the Service Scholarships).

Will McCann was welcomed as a new member. He will be officially inducted on June 4th at the monthly business meeting.

The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, May 28th, at noon at Willow Creek Cafe. The program chairman will be Gaylon Thorn.

The Mason Lion’s Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
