Community is a powerful and wonderful that I have been lucky enough to discover in Mason since I arrived last July. I was recently hospitalized unexpectedly twice and would like to take the opportunity to thank the people I have come to know in Mason-my community -for all they have so graciously done to help me.

I came here from Fort Worth, my hometown and have been very honored to have made many friends already. And when I call them friends I mean that in the true sense of the word! They have come to my rescue during my recovery visiting me in the hospital in Fredericksburg and the rehab facility in Comfort while I was relearning to walk.

Friends brought flowers and edibles that truly were a blessing and break from the cafeteria food, lots of calls to give encouragement, magazines and books ,cards, cleaning my home before I came back, relocating my dog and continuing PRAYERS by so many!

Words cannot convey my appreciation for having such a COMMUNITY surrounding me and I have truly learned the meaning of the word here in Mason. Thanks to everyone especially: Kyle,Matt,Joyce ,Manny and Scott, Lisa ,Rachel,Rae Beth, Bridget, Michelle I.and all the exercise class, Brent and Monica, everyone at First State and Mason Bank , The City of Mason front office folks, Gloria at Citizen’s Ins., Kristi, Gene and all of the ArtWalk participants Michelle C., Sheriff Quinn, Ray and Johnnie.

My COMMUNITY is so much bigger than this and again, I thank everyone in Mason for their kindness and concern. My experience would have been drastically different in Fort Worth.

Even with all that has gone awry for me this year I am the luckiest girl around because I belong to the community of Mason!
