The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, June 4th, for its monthly business meeting. There were 33 members and four visitors in attendance.

"Boss" Lion Pat Reardon was responsible for the program and Secretary/Treasurer Gene Gammill read the minutes and gave the financial report.

Lion Mark Lehmberg informed the club that now is the time to start getting sponsorships for the 5K/10K Walk & Run. He reminded us that without these sponsors, this event would not happen.

Lion Chris Dyer is looking into going to Oklahoma during the latter part of June to help with the relief effort around Moore. It was noted by Lion John Gammill that Lions Club International was on the scene at Moore before the Red Cross or any other agency. The meeting adjourned at 1:00 p.m.

The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, June 11th, at noon at Willow Creek Cafe. The program chairman will be Jerry Bearden.

The Mason Lion’s Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
