Joe David Parks Receives Recognition

The United States Achievement Academy has announced that Joe David Parks of Brady, Texas, has been recognized by the United States Achievement Academy as a student of excellence in leadership and vocational studies.

Mr. Parks attends Rochelle High School, and was nominated for this honor by his ag teacher, Eddie Byrom. He is the son of Angela Garner of Brady and the late Rex Parks of Mason. His grandparents are Larry & Shirley Henderson of Voca, Texas, and Charles & Barbara Garner of Brady. Hisuncle and aunt are B. H. & Julie Nobles of Mason.

Joey (as he's known by his family) will be a senior at Rochelle this year; and, after graduation, will be attending Western Texas College in Snyder in the Petroleum Technology program and working on getting his welding certification as well. 

He is ranked 11 in his class and is a honor roll student. With this award, he will qualify to receive one of the 400 scholarship cash grants, one of them being a $10,000 cash scholarship.
