Wednesday, June 26, 2013 • Posted June 27, 2013

Many relatives and friends met at the Richard P. Eckert Civic Center in Mason on Saturday, June 22, for the annual Surber reunion. The event was hosted by the family of Fritz Surber, who was the second son of Otto and Maude (Reeves) Surber.

A barbecue lunch prepared by Fred and Mitch Jordan was served to about 60 people in attendance. An auction was held in the afternoon with Jackie Behrens and Roy Cooper being the auctioneers. This was a fun time for everyone and paid for our meals.

Charles Eckert had all the history and pictures for all to view and learn from.

There is only one living daughter surviving: Viletha Cooper of Mason, who was in attendance.

Relatives and friends were from North Richland Hills, San Antonio, Round Rock, Eden, Georgetown, Sonora, Katy, San Angelo, Liberty Hill, Hamilton, Brady, Castroville, Marfa and Mason.
