Art at the Food Bank
Wednesday, July 3, 2013 • Posted July 3, 2013

Anna Claire Brewer, granddaughter of local artist Sue Kaan, proudly displays her contribution to our local Mason County Food Bank - food for the eyes. Anna Claire has been painting for several years and volunteered her talents to help decorate the food storage area at the food bank.

Starting in July, food distribution will expand from one day only, the second Monday of each month, to three days, the second Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of each month. These changes will enable volunteers to assemble “made-to-order” food boxes for each recipient. These new procedures will help eliminate food wastage and will give the recipients more choice in the items they receive each month. Eventually, we hope to visit with each recipient and possibly find ways to distribute a “hand-up, not a hand-out.” If you would like to volunteer your talents to this effort, call Eva Tannehill (347-1518) or Linda Laury (347-5422).
